destination.... or select from the buttons at the bottom of this page.

The first is right on the Coral Coast ideally situated equidistant from two major tourist hotels, the Warwick and Crusoes.

Namatukula is a large village with about 400 inhabitants made up of five clans (or families). It is also the home of several rugby league stars including:

Noa Nadruku (pronounced Nandruku) - from the Canberra Raiders; Taveuni

Jonetani Navonu - NSW - Tamberamba (Sydney)

and, of course, Lote Tuqiri - Broncos (rugby league) - more recently rugby union for the Wallabies

Namatakula is located on the main road to Suva and is just minutes from Navutulevu (see below) historic Tavuni Hill

The second destination with about 200 inhabitants is inland along the Navua river - the only way to get there is by water taxi - the start of a real adventure.

On your way to Namuamua you will pass the magnificent waterfall that is soon to be featured as the location for the new film "Anaconda Part Two".

Namuamua is a step back into the past. The people of the small village, located on the junction of two rivers, are totally dependant on their traditional way of life. By accepting visitors into their homes they are, for the first time, generating important additional income to help in areas such as schooling.

The total isolation of Namuamua is part of the attraction of this unique getaway.

The third destination is on the Coral Coast with about 200 inhabitants, just minutes from Namatakula, but very different.

Navutulevu has some of the most stunning beaches on the Coral Coast. It is located on the main road to Suva just a few minutes drive from Namatakula (see above). The village's rugby team, sponsored by fijibure.com, is one of the best on the island. For rugby lovers there is a rugby field adjoining the village where you can watch the team play during rugby season.

The fourth destination, is the historic inland village of Naroro near Sigatoka. This village will be added to fijibure.com in the next few months. The villagers at Naroro are the dependents of the historically famous Tavuni Hill where the Tongans were based up to the 1800s before being defeated by the British. Before the Tongans a cannibalistic tribe of Fijians occupied Tavuni Hill - you can see the stone on which their enemies were killed over 2500 years ago.
