Namuamua Library Project

In April next year (2009) about 20 volunteers from Australia will travel to Namuamua to assist in totally refurbishing the school library in that village. The project is being coordinated by FijiBure and Round Square, an international charity - more at this link.

The project will see a brand new library established out of the ruins of what is currently the only source of learning for over four hundred children in the village. The headmaster, Neumio Vola (seen right) is helping in the logistics of making this happen and would welcome all donations on books, CDs, DVDs and second hand notebook computers (with Australian power supply fittings) as prt of this project.

You can send thse donations directly to the school at the address below:

We have also started a project that we call Operation Fiji Feet. The aim of this project is to provide shoes to Fijian children in all the villages.

If you can help in any way email us or again post your shoes to the address above.

The village is ideally placed just a few hundred metres from the very popular scuba diving resort of Beqa Lagoon Resort. Guests at Ravi ravi can stay here with the village people and enjoy the rate of just F$80 per night (including all meals) while going to the resort to participate in one of the finest scuba diving operations in Fiji Islands.
