Welcome to the October 2005 FijiBure.Com newsletter

Visit to Fiji, November 2005

In a couple of weeks I will be in Fiji again meeting with the village hosts.

While in Fiji I will be visiting a remote village on Kadavu Island, one of Fiji's southern-most islands and a couple of villages in the province of Talevu - near Suva.

I anticipate that we will have twelve Fijian villages participating in FijiBure.com by the end of this year.

For the record, the last few months have been extraordinarily busy for our hosts with hundreds of guests staying with them and, as a result, over F$50,000 being injected directly into these village communities.

The facilities at Malevu are currently being upgraded by our hosts and next month I will send you photographs of the new community hall at Namatakula funded as a result of this project.

Japanese Village Homestays

It is taking slightly longer than expected to get the Japanese village homestays going but our thanks go to Aaron, our representative in Japan, who is currently compiling a library of photos and selecting a couple of fabulous traditional Japanese Villages to participate in this project.

If you are aware of anyone with suitable credentials and a passion for helping impoverished villagers in their region please get them to contact us. We are currently looking at expansion into South America and parts of Asia.

Our village homestay portable and our sustainable tourism objectives can be seen at this link.

Moce and Segalega Marau! (Don't worry, be happy!)
